Standardisation – ISO Our chains are manufactured in accordance with the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) This guarantees full replaceability or the combining of conveyor chains from different manufacturers. The Swedish standard SMS 2083, the German DIN 8167, the French NF E26-106 and the Finnish SFS 2380 all now conform to ISO/R 1977.
Production method A good conveyor chain must be designed in such a way that it can cope with heavy wear and large shock loads. These properties are achieved as a result of both pins and sleeves being surface hardened and secured as firmly as possible to the link plates. Thanks to our modern and partially automated production technology, we can supply durable chains of even quality. Two methods are used for the assembly of pins and sleeves:
- Roller riveting
- Automatic welding
Roller riveting is a cold riveting method where considerable force is used to hammer the pins against the side plates. This method provides an extremely strong joint that can withstand considerable lateral forces.
When welding, CNC controlled automatic welding machines are used, guaranteeing welds of a very even quality.
Quality supervision We invest a great deal in ensuring that our products maintain a high level of quality and operational reliability. Quality supervision at the factory starts with an acceptance inspection of the raw material and finishes with a final inspection prior to delivery to the end customer.
In addition to our own measurements and tests, we also rely on tests carried out by the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and other laboratories in the sector. The chains are checked fully in accordance with the standard SFS 2380.
Product development Product development has had a central position in the company’s operations right from t he outset. Developments have taken place in collaboration with the chain’s users, suppliers or raw materials and various research institutes. By investigating various raw materials and trying out various alternatives, we are constantly striving to achieve more operationally reliable products. As regards manufacturing methods and the level of automation, the factory has developed into one of the most modern in Europe in our sector. Targeted investment activities guarantee that the achieved level is maintained and further developed.
